Doctor of Philosophy in Communication and Culture

Master of Spatial Analysis (MSA)

The Master of Spatial Analysis (MSA) is a unique graduate program designed to equip students with advanced skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and geographical thinking. Through project-based courses, a practicum placement, and a major research paper or thesis, students learn to apply spatial analysis techniques to support decision-making in government and industry. Graduates are prepared for roles in diverse fields such as business, environmental consulting, crime analysis, social policy, and public health. The program fosters the ability to analyze complex spatial data to address real-world challenges and contribute to economic, social, and environmental well-being.

Midwifery Education Program

The Midwifery Education Program (BHSc) trains graduates to provide safe, competent, and ethical midwifery care. Midwives offer primary care for low-risk pregnancies, supporting individuals throughout pregnancy, labour, birth, and the postpartum period for up to six weeks. A significant portion of the program, over half, is dedicated to hands-on clinical practice and interprofessional placements, ensuring students gain practical experience in real-world settings.

PhD Computer Science

Urban and Regional Planning - Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning

Urban and regional planners shape the development and enhancement of communities, applying principles from economics, social justice, urban design, and ecology. This program focuses on studio-based learning, equipping you with practical policy, research, and communication skills. Through client-based projects and field research, you'll gain real-world experience. The curriculum is designed to help you understand community needs, structures, and regulations concerning land and resource use, preparing you to advise on critical issues such as social, economic, environmental, cultural, land development, and transportation matters. Graduates are well-prepared to address complex planning challenges and contribute to sustainable and equitable community development.

Urban Development (Master of Planning)

The Master of Planning (MPl) in Urban Development program offers a comprehensive approach to understanding and shaping our communities. It examines the economic, socio-cultural, political, ecological, and spatial aspects of urban development, focusing on the interconnectedness of urban life and the natural environment. The program emphasizes the principles of inclusivity and sustainability in planning and design practices. Students can choose between two streams: a two-year regular stream for university graduates seeking to launch a planning career, and a one-year accelerated stream for experienced professional planners or planning graduates with significant work experience who want to advance their careers. The program leverages Toronto as a living laboratory through studios, internships, and research opportunities, connecting students with real-world urban challenges and experts.
