M1 Biomass Engineering for Bioeconomy (Master's in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy)

The Master's program in Biomass Engineering for Bioeconomy (BEB), also known as the European Master in Biological and Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable Bioeconomy (Bioceb), is a two-year joint master's degree designed to prepare students for leadership roles in research and innovation within the global bioeconomy sector. It addresses the growing demand for scientists who understand both the technical aspects and the market/socio-economic contexts of the bio-based industry. The program emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, integrating chemistry, biology, economics, and environmental sciences, complemented by project management skills. Students benefit from a modular structure that encourages cultural exchange and accommodates diverse educational backgrounds. Bioceb has received the "Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree" (EMJMD) label from the European Commission, highlighting its international collaboration and quality. The Master 1 (M1) year of this program is delivered by Université Paris-Saclay, operated by AgroParisTech, in partnership with other European universities.
