Master of Science, Integrated Sustainable Design
The Master of Science in Integrated Sustainable Design (MSc ISD) is a one-year, post-professional program at the National University of Singapore. This program is designed to equip professionals with integrated knowledge to address global sustainability challenges across both building and urban scales. It combines insights from various disciplines including architecture, engineering, landscape design, planning, urban design, and biological science.
The curriculum explores material, technical, spatial, and social systems, with a specific focus on their relevance to urbanization in Asian cities. Students come from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, primarily from Asia, but also from Australia, Europe, and North/Central America. Graduates often return to their core disciplines with enhanced sustainability expertise, improving their marketability and ability to approach problems from an Asian perspective. Some pursue research, education, specialist consulting, or PhD studies.
