Foundation to Medicine (Year 0)

This is a one-year foundation programme designed for mature students or those who have been out of formal education for some time or have non-traditional qualifications. It serves as a pathway to the Medicine and Surgery MBChB (A100) programme. The foundation year is delivered at Carmel College in St Helens, which is a short distance from the main University of Liverpool campus. This setting offers small class sizes and a high standard of academic achievement, preparing students for the rigours of medical study. Upon successful completion of the foundation year, students progress to the first year of the Medicine programme at the University of Liverpool campus. This course is specifically aimed at mature and non-traditional Home students who are seeking a route into medicine after a break from their studies. Frank Innovation Zone (FIZ) Fabrication Studios

The Frank Innovation Zone (FIZ) at Washington State University offers students access to a range of fabrication studios designed to support individual projects, club activities, and academic research. Located on the ground floor of Dana Hall, the FIZ serves as a central hub for hands-on learning and innovation, coordinating with various Voiland College programs to provide comprehensive resources. To ensure a safe and productive environment, all users must complete mandatory safety orientations and training for each studio they wish to access. Upon completion of training, users can gain extended access to studios via their Cougar Card. The FIZ also offers reserved sessions for small group training and skill development, provided users are certified and authorized. The FIZ Community Studio acts as the central point for users, housing a Service Center for tool rentals, project pickups, and general inquiries. This space is equipped with work tables, computers with engineering software, whiteboards for collaboration, and lockers for personal item storage. Beyond the Community Studio, specialized studios cater to specific fabrication needs, including metalworking, electrical prototyping, woodworking, welding, and cutting/finishing. Safety is a top priority at the FIZ. All community members are expected to uphold high safety standards, use only equipment they are trained and certified for, and maintain clean workspaces. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory for certain equipment. The FIZ encourages a collaborative atmosphere where students can develop practical skills and bring their innovative ideas to life.

Frederick Honors College Programs

The Frederick Honors College at the University of Pittsburgh - Greensburg offers several pathways for high-achieving undergraduate students. These programs are designed to provide enriched academic experiences, opportunities for research and experiential learning, and a focus on developing leadership and global awareness. Students can pursue Honors Distinction, an Honors Degree, or a Bachelor of Philosophy (BPhil) degree, each with progressively higher academic and experiential requirements.

French

The French program at Trinity Western University is designed to equip students with essential skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening comprehension in French. It aims to foster an appreciation for French-speaking peoples and cultures globally. Through the study of language, literature, and civilization, the program explores the past and present cultures of France, Quebec, other parts of French Canada, and other Francophone countries. All proficiency levels are offered, with opportunities for summer study trips to France or Quebec. There are two main streams within the program. The French studies stream is suitable for those who have completed Grade 11 French or FREN 101/102, focusing primarily on language acquisition with integrated cultural content. The language and literature stream is for students who have completed Grade 12 French and involves a deeper study of both language and literature. Both streams can lead to a minor or concentration in French. For students taking at least five French courses without pursuing a minor or concentration, a Letter of Proficiency is available, which can be a valuable addition to a resume.

French and Italian Languages and Literatures

The Department of French and Italian Languages and Literatures offers three distinct majors: French Studies, Italian Studies, and Romance Languages. These programs provide students with a deep understanding of the languages, literature, and cultures of French and Italian-speaking regions. A key component of these majors is the encouragement of immersive study abroad experiences, with all courses taken on Dartmouth's LSA+ and FSP programs in France or Italy counting towards major and minor requirements.

French and Philosophy BA

This Bachelor of Arts degree offers a comprehensive study of both French language and Philosophy, designed to develop advanced linguistic skills and sophisticated critical thinking. Over four years, you will immerse yourself in French language acquisition and socio-cultural understanding, while simultaneously exploring a wide range of philosophical debates and principles from historical to contemporary perspectives. The program includes a compulsory year abroad to foster deep intercultural engagement.
