Orthoptic and Ophthalmologic Assistance

This three-year Bachelor's degree program trains professionals in orthoptic and ophthalmologic assistance. The curriculum provides foundational knowledge in biological, biomedical, and neurophysiological sciences, alongside specialized learning in the anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the visual system. Students will gain an understanding of binocular vision, amblyopia, and basic orthoptic principles. The program emphasizes practical skills through internships, preparing students for various roles within healthcare settings. The second year focuses on pathologies of the eye and visual apparatus, relating them to systemic conditions across different age groups. Students will delve into orthoptic methodology, ocular motility, and diagnostic techniques. Essential knowledge in preventive, occupational, and legal medicine, as well as computer science and medical statistics for research, will be acquired. In the third year, the program builds theoretical and practical expertise in assisting with ophthalmic surgery and neuro-psycho-visual rehabilitation. Students will learn to manage critical situations, understand health business economics, labor law, professional ethics, and radiation protection. The final year emphasizes teamwork, autonomy, and responsibility during internships, culminating in the skills needed for professional practice and dissertation completion.
