Conflict and Democracy (M.A.)

This Master's program focuses on understanding how political and societal conflicts can be transformed to strengthen democracies. You will explore the vulnerabilities of liberal democracies to authoritarian tendencies and envision the future of resilient democratic societies. The curriculum examines how international law and politics facilitate cooperation amidst global challenges and authoritarian regimes. The program combines political science, law, and applied conflict research, based on the understanding that conflicts are integral to pluralistic coexistence and democratic development. Cultural and Social Studies (B.A.)

The Bachelor's program in Cultural and Social Studies (CuSo) is an interdisciplinary program offered in both English and German. This program is designed for students from non-German speaking backgrounds who wish to gradually learn German, as well as for those proficient in both languages seeking an international study environment. A key requirement is the acquisition or proof of competence in a third language.

International Business Administration (M.Sc.)

This Master of Science program in International Business Administration is a research-oriented course of study designed to equip you with advanced theoretical knowledge and methodological skills. You will learn to independently expand your scientific understanding of business and economics, with a strong emphasis on research methods and strategies. The program prepares you not only for a professional career but also for academic pursuits. Located in the heart of Europe, Europa-Universität Viadrina fosters an international learning environment where students from diverse backgrounds collaborate to prepare for global business challenges. The curriculum is delivered in English and includes an integrated German language course for non-native speakers, aiming for CEFR level B1 by the end of the program (mandatory for SSO 2025). Students are required to complete a study abroad semester of at least three months in their second or third semester. Language and Media Studies

This Master's program explores the complex relationship between language, media, and society. You will gain an understanding of how language and media influence public discourse, social dynamics, and power structures, examining contemporary issues like AI, social media, and digital communication. The program integrates theoretical, methodological, and empirical approaches from film and media studies with culturally oriented language research. Law (Polish-German Legal Studies)

This is a unique European program offering students the chance to study two legal systems in two languages simultaneously. Upon completion, you will receive three diplomas: Master's (Magister), LL.B., and LL.M., providing a significant advantage in the legal job market. Classes are taught in both Polish and German by Polish and German lecturers. Polish law courses are held in Polish at Collegium Polonicum in Słubice, while German law courses are taught in German at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Both cities are connected by a bridge over the Oder River, and the institutions are a short walk apart. Successful participation requires a solid foundation in German. The European University Viadrina offers a preparatory language program to support students. If your German proficiency is at the B2/C1 level, you can enroll in a one-month 'Viadrina Law Track' course before commencing your studies.

Law Studies at Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder)

Europa-Universität Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) offers a comprehensive law program with a strong focus on European law, leading to Germany's first state examination. Additionally, students can pursue a "Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)" degree, a unique qualification providing a solid foundation even if the state examination is not immediately achieved. The university also offers interdisciplinary programs like "Law and Economics" and "Law and Politics," jointly with other faculties, leading to LL.B., B.Sc., or B.A. degrees. Literary Studies: Aesthetics – Literature – Philosophy (M.A.)

Master in European Studies (MES)

The Master in European Studies (MES) is an interdisciplinary Master of Arts programme offered across three faculties at Europa-Universität Viadrina. This multilingual program allows students to study in German, English, French, and Polish, focusing on Culture, Politics, Law, or Business & Law. The MES provides a flexible structure, enabling students to develop individual profiles and specializations through elective courses and research. The program aims to strengthen students' international perspectives, offering opportunities for study abroad or participation in integrated Double Master's programs. The MES is designed to be completed in four semesters, requiring the accumulation of 120 ECTS credits. Students can begin their studies in either the winter or summer semester.

Master Mediation and Conflict Management (M.A./LL.M.) (continuing education)

Master of Arts in Digital Studies: Technology, Media, Society

The program is taught entirely in English and is designed for graduates with a Bachelor's degree in cultural, media, communication studies, economics, law, or technical disciplines, who possess relevant foundational knowledge and a strong interest in research.

Master of Digital Entrepreneurship (MoDE)

The Master of Digital Entrepreneurship (MoDE) is a research-oriented master's program designed to prepare approximately 30-40 students annually for leadership roles within the digital economy. It fosters innovation, business strategy, and practical experience through a highly interactive learning environment. The program emphasizes a collaborative, dialogue-based approach to teaching within a small, personalized campus setting. Social Studies – Crises, Culture and Critique

The Master’s programme in Social Studies – Crises, Culture and Critique provides a comprehensive understanding of urgent societal challenges like migration, racism, social inequality, and ecological crises. It equips students with theoretical knowledge, specialist expertise, and practical skills to critically analyze these issues from social science, cultural, and philosophical perspectives.
