This Master of Arts program offers an interdisciplinary approach to understanding the complex interplay between digital technologies, media, and society. It explores how platforms, algorithms, and AI are reshaping public debate, political processes, and everyday life, with a focus on critical analysis and research. The program equips students with theoretical knowledge and methodological expertise from fields like Science & Technology Studies (STS), Media and Communication Studies, Cultural Studies, Law, and Economics.
Students will gain a nuanced understanding of how digital technologies impact society across diverse cultural and historical contexts, examining both emerging trends and forms of resistance. The curriculum emphasizes critical examination of Western and Eurocentric perspectives through case studies from various global regions, particularly Central and Eastern Europe. Key themes include exclusion, inequality, discrimination, responsibility, participation, and sustainability.
The program is taught entirely in English and is designed for graduates with a Bachelor's degree in cultural, media, communication studies, economics, law, or technical disciplines, who possess relevant foundational knowledge and a strong interest in research.
