Ageing Health & Wellbeing in Intellectual Disability (M.Sc.)

This interdisciplinary Master of Science (M.Sc.) program aims to enhance the skills, knowledge, and competencies of professionals working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. It focuses on promoting excellence in care, with a special emphasis on the ageing process and the unique health and wellbeing needs of this population. You will explore physical health, policy implications, and complex care requirements, learning from world-leading researchers at the Trinity Centre for Ageing and Intellectual Disability, which hosts the influential IDS-TILDA longitudinal study. The program is designed for a diverse range of healthcare professionals, including those in nursing, medicine, occupational therapy, social work, and physiotherapy. It offers a flexible learning approach, with core modules delivered online and a blended learning method for other content, incorporating lectures, group discussions, and self-directed study. The goal is to equip graduates to become leaders in person-centred care for older adults with intellectual disabilities.

Master's in Midwifery - Advanced Practice (AMP)

This Master's programme is designed to equip you with the advanced knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to excel as an Advanced Midwife Practitioner. You will explore key principles such as person-centred care, autonomy, empowerment, professional ethics, consultation, collaboration, and leadership. Upon successful completion, graduates will be eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Midwife Prescriber (RMP) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Depending on your prior qualifications and professional standing, you may be eligible for entry into the Master's, a Postgraduate Diploma, or a Postgraduate Certificate, with flexible pathways available. For those holding a Master's in Midwifery, a one-year Postgraduate Diploma or Certificate option is available. Entry and exit requirements are assessed individually, and prospective students are encouraged to contact the School of Nursing and Midwifery for personalized guidance.
