Dance Science
The Bachelor of Science in Dance Science at Texas A&M University is designed for students with previous dance experience who are interested in careers spanning dance education and dance science. This flexible degree allows students to fulfill prerequisites for professional schools like physical therapy, occupational therapy, or medicine, while also focusing deeply on the artistic and scientific aspects of dance. Graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills to train dancers at an elite level, emphasizing injury prevention and proper biomechanics.
This program offers a holistic education, covering dancer wellness, various dance techniques (ballet, modern, jazz, hip-hop), dance research, anatomy, nutrition, conditioning, injury prevention, care, pedagogy, production, and composition.
