Healthcare Administration and Service Management
This Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides a modern, applied approach to healthcare management. You will develop essential skills in leadership, operations, and digital health technologies relevant to Canada's evolving healthcare system. The program aims to equip graduates with the ability to innovate solutions, manage operations effectively, and optimize team performance, leading to improved staff well-being, service delivery, and patient outcomes. You will gain a holistic understanding of Canadian healthcare systems, including funding structures, regulations, policy, and patient-centred service management. The curriculum also addresses ethical decision-making, the impact of identity and systemic inequalities on healthcare, and the psychology of change. The program utilizes a blend of lectures, interactive discussions, practical labs, clinical simulations, and real-world case studies. A significant component is a 392-hour field placement where students work with experienced healthcare leaders on specific projects. The program also explores the role of artificial intelligence and machine learning in healthcare and emphasizes leadership with empathy and cultural humility, addressing structural biases to foster inclusive cultures and ensure equitable access to care.
