This Master of Arts program focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating digital tools, media, and learning experiences for various environments, including schools, universities, workplaces, museums, and international development projects. You will learn to create impactful learning resources and experiences using both traditional and emerging technologies like VR/AR/XR, simulations, apps, games, AI, and learning analytics. The program emphasizes research-based design principles to enhance learning across formal and informal settings, and from face-to-face to online contexts.
Students can specialize in areas such as User Experience Design for Learning, Learning Analytics and Educational Data Science, Transformative Learning Design, or Games for Learning. You also have the option to design your own area of focus, with a formal concentration in Games for Learning available if you complete specific coursework.
Graduates will be equipped with skills in media and technology, the ability to apply learning sciences and cognitive science theories to design and evaluate learning technologies, and an understanding of the social, cognitive, emotional, and cultural factors influencing educational experiences.
