Open to early-career researchers who are citizens of a low-, lower-middle-, or upper-middle-income country as defined by the World Bank, hold at least a postgraduate degree (MSc, preferably PhD or MD), and work in multiple sclerosis research. Applicants must secure a host supervisor at an institution outside their home country before applying. Women, indigenous researchers, and candidates from Small Island Developing States and Least Developed Countries are particularly encouraged.

Icelandic Government Scholarship in Icelandic Studies

Open to citizens of a defined list of eligible countries who have completed at least one year of university study in the humanities and have basic Icelandic proficiency (equivalent to Icelandic Online 1 and 2). English proficiency certification is required, as English is a secondary medium of instruction. Applicants under 35 years of age are prioritised. United States applicants must apply via the Fulbright Program only.

American University (AU), Washington, D.C.

American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

Open to international students of all nationalities applying to American University in Washington, D.C. for a bachelor's or eligible master's programme. Applicants must have a strong academic record, demonstrate clear leadership qualities, and intend to return to their home country to support underserved communities. They must not be US citizens, US permanent residents, or dual nationals with the US, and must not have already started studies in the US or their home country. Master's recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in the first two semesters.

Imperial College London

President's PhD Scholarship

For exceptional students of any nationality applying for a full-time PhD at Imperial College London, who have (or expect) a top undergraduate/master's degree and strong research potential. You apply with or after securing a PhD place and a supervisor; selection is by the department and the scholarship scheme.

Harvard University

Harvard Griffin GSAS Fellowships

For students admitted to PhD programmes at the Harvard Kenneth C. Griffin Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS). Funded admission includes fellowship support; you apply for the PhD programme rather than a separate fellowship, and selection is by the department and GSAS.

Simmons University

Simmons University Kotzen Scholarship

Open to incoming first-year (freshman) students applying for the fall semester with a GPA of 3.3 or higher and a record of honors, AP or IB coursework. Non-native English speakers submit TOEFL and SAT or ACT scores. The award is need- and merit-based.

Max Planck Schools

Max Planck Schools Graduate Scholarships

Open to talented international and domestic students of all nationalities who hold (or are about to complete) a master's degree, or an exceptional bachelor's degree, in a relevant scientific field. Applicants choose one of three graduate schools - Cognition, Matter to Life or Photonics - and may enter either a combined MSc and PhD track or a standalone PhD track depending on their academic background.

Open to doctoral candidates of any nationality admitted to a doctoral project at the University of Hamburg who graduated with above-average grades, ideally within the past year (in special cases up to three years), and who meet the faculty requirements; medicine (UKE) candidates may apply only if their main topic lies in another faculty.

Yale University

Yale World Fellows Program

Open to mid-career professionals from outside the United States, typically ~5–20 years into careers in government, business, NGOs, journalism, the arts, the military, or social enterprise. It is a non-degree leadership program; a graduate degree is not required, but a record of significant accomplishment and leadership is.

Gates Cambridge Trust

Gates Cambridge Scholarships

Open to citizens of any country outside the United Kingdom applying for a full-time postgraduate degree (PhD, MSc/MLitt, or one-year master's) at the University of Cambridge. Selection weighs academic excellence, a strong fit with the chosen Cambridge course, a clear commitment to improving the lives of others, and leadership potential.

French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs (Campus France)

MOPGA France Visiting Fellowship Program

Open to early-career foreign (non-French) researchers who hold a PhD obtained within roughly the last five years and who have lived outside France for most of the qualifying period before the call. Applicants must propose a 12-month research project that fits one of the programme's environmental and sustainability themes and must secure a letter of support from a French host laboratory. The programme is open to all nationalities except French citizens.

ifa CrossCulture Programme Fellowships

Open to professionals and volunteers of all nationalities working in civil society, community development or intercultural exchange, with a clear plan for how the fellowship will strengthen their organisation. No IELTS is required; working knowledge of English is expected.

Nishimura Foundation Japan International Scholarship

Open to Indonesian citizens who are graduates of UGM, ITB, UI or UNAIR and who will apply for S1 (undergraduate), S2 (master's) or S3 (doctoral) study at an eligible Japanese university. Applicants must self-fund their study programme (the scholarship covers living expenses, not tuition), meet the minimum GPA (3.0 for undergraduate, 3.5 for master's), demonstrate financial need, and have or be willing to learn Japanese with an interest in Japanese culture and Indonesia-Japan relations.

Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP)

For students with an excellent academic record applying for a master's programme at ETH Zurich, of any nationality. The scholarship is merit-based; you apply for it as part of your ETH master's admission application, by the December deadline, and selection is by ETH.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships

For students from low- and lower-middle-income Commonwealth countries who could not otherwise afford to study a full-time taught master's in the UK. Awards are made jointly (cost-shared) with participating UK universities; you apply through a participating university for an eligible one-year taught master's.

Princeton University — Graduate School

Princeton Graduate Fellowship

For students admitted to Princeton University's doctoral (and certain master's) programmes. Princeton fully funds its PhD students for the normal period of study, so admission carries the funding package; the key step is meeting the programme's admission deadline.

Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program (administered by AMIDEAST)

Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program

Open to Egyptian nationals resident in Egypt who plan undergraduate or master's study at one of four named US universities. Undergraduates need a 3.5 GPA (or 90% Thanaweyya Amma), TOEFL iBT 100+, and qualifying SAT scores. Master's applicants need a 3.5 GPA, TOEFL iBT 100+, GMAT 650+ or GRE 302+, and at least three years' work experience. Recipients commit to returning to Egypt for two years after graduation.

Warwick International Partnerships Scholarship

For international (overseas fee-status) students who join the University of Warwick through one of its international partnership routes — for example students from a partner university, an articulation or progression agreement, or a specific country/region partnership. It is a partial tuition-fee reduction; the exact value, number of awards, and eligible partnerships are set by Warwick each year.

International Scholarships at Multimedia University Malaysia

Open to international and domestic students holding an offer for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate programme at Multimedia University Malaysia, awarded on academic merit and, for some schemes, financial need; undergraduate entrants need a high-school certificate and postgraduate entrants a first degree.

Global Affairs Canada (administered by Colleges and Institutes Canada / WUSC)

Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030)

Open to citizens of 26 eligible partner countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Candidates cannot apply individually; they are nominated through project-based partnerships between Canadian higher education institutions and institutions in their home country. At least 51% of recipients are women, and applicants must meet the admission criteria of the Canadian institution and commit to contributing to the development of their home country after graduation.

CISPA & University of Stuttgart Software Lab PhD Scholarships

Open to applicants who hold or expect a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with strong coding skills, an interest in large-scale software projects and the ability to write and present in English (no German required). Candidates should be passionate about high-quality academic research, willing to mentor undergraduate students, and have a long-term vision and persistence for deep research. Positions are filled on a rolling basis as suitable candidates are identified.
