Financial Technology
This graduate certificate program focuses on Financial Technology (FinTech), an industry that combines finance, data, and digital tools to innovate and improve financial services like payment processing, banking, security, and investing. It's designed for individuals with backgrounds in finance, business, or computer programming, equipping them with specialized skills for the rapidly growing FinTech sector. The program goes beyond using current systems, preparing students to contribute to the development of future financial technologies.
Learning is hands-on, collaborative, and interdisciplinary. You'll gain practical experience with industry-standard tools and software through labs, case studies, group projects, and a capstone project. The curriculum covers fundamentals of finance, technology, data science, AI, and financial regulations in the first semester. Subsequent courses delve deeper into AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, blockchain, and other emerging technologies. An optional co-op work term offers up to 360 hours of real-world experience.
Students will utilize industry platforms and tools such as Power BI, Excel, AI tools, data analysis software, cloud technologies, Python, R, SQL, and FinTech APIs. The program is faculty by the Pilon School of Business and is PGWP-aligned.
