Master of Philosophy - Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a research-focused degree designed to equip you with advanced research skills for a career in academia, government, or industry. It also serves as a pathway for practising engineers to deepen their knowledge and enhance their qualifications. The program combines coursework with a substantial thesis component, allowing for in-depth investigation into a chosen research area within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences.

Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced)

The Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced) is a two-year full-time program designed for graduates from non-accounting backgrounds who wish to pursue a career in the accounting profession. This advanced degree allows you to deepen your understanding of accounting practices and offers the opportunity to combine it with a specialisation in another business discipline. The program focuses on the practical aspects of accounting and offers three specialisation streams: Financial Management (including banking and securities), International Business (exploring intercultural business environments), and Business Analytics (using data to drive business strategies). You will receive comprehensive support from dedicated student services, academic staff, and a careers consultant throughout your studies. The course also provides opportunities for networking with peers, the local business community, and alumni through various events.

Master of Professional Accounting (Advanced)

Master of Professional Psychology

This Master's degree is designed for graduates who have completed four years of accredited study in psychology, equivalent to an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 8 sequence. It focuses on the professional practice of psychology, including assessment, intervention, communication, and ethics. The program aims to equip you with the necessary skills and competencies for a supervised internship, paving the way for general registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. The curriculum is based on the scientist-practitioner model and requires students to demonstrate core professional competencies outlined by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC).

Master of Psychology (Clinical)

The Master of Psychology (Clinical) program offers comprehensive training in the practice of clinical psychology, covering assessment, intervention, communication, and ethical considerations. It provides specialised training and supervised experience in the assessment and intervention skills essential for clinical psychologists. This degree is designed for graduates who have completed a four-year APAC-accredited psychology program, equivalent to an AQF Level 8 sequence, and who have demonstrated competence in pre-professional competencies. The program serves as the fifth and sixth year of structured learning and supervised practice to meet the requirements for general registration as a psychologist in Australia. It also prepares graduates for further registrar programs leading to an area of practice endorsement in clinical psychology with the Psychology Board of Australia. The curriculum includes subjects in clinical assessment and interventions, psychotherapy, and research, with students undertaking a research project in each of the two years. Teaching methods combine lectures, workshops, skills training, online learning, and supervised work-based placements at the University's Northfields Psychology Clinic and external sites.

Master of Public Health

The Master of Public Health is a one-year, full-time degree designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to public health. Through innovative learning experiences, you will develop advanced, work-ready skills and gain an analytical and social perspective to address significant global health issues. The program allows for specialisation in areas such as Social Systems, Big Data and Decision Science, Indigenous Health, Public Health Practice, Public Health Research, or Climate and Environment. A strong emphasis is placed on Work Integrated Learning, industry connections, and practical placements, particularly within the Public Health Practice specialisation, allowing you to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. The course can be studied via flexible delivery, which includes on-campus tutorials, or by distance for domestic and offshore international students.

Master of Public Health Extension

The Master of Public Health Extension offers a comprehensive introduction to public health principles and practices. This extended program allows you to deepen your knowledge by selecting specialisations or elective subjects that align with your specific career goals. You will study four core public health subjects and then have the flexibility to focus on areas such as social systems, big data and decision science, Indigenous health, public health practice, public health research, or climate and environmental health. Specialisation is optional, and you can choose to complete additional electives to further tailor your studies.

Master of Research - EIS

Master of Research - Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences

The Master of Research (MRes) program is designed to launch your research career by immersing you in advanced research training and coursework. This program requires completion of 96 credit points, with the first year dedicated to research training and coursework, and the second year focused on a substantial thesis (48 credit points). The thesis is typically assessed by two external examiners. Depending on your prior academic achievements, you may be eligible for advanced standing for the research training and coursework component, which can affect your entry point into the program.

Master of Science (Medical Radiation Physics)

This Master of Science program is designed for graduates with a foundational background in physics who aim to work in public health sectors. It focuses on providing current knowledge and technical expertise specifically in radiation oncology and diagnostic imaging medical physics. The program includes lectures and practical classes held in hospital settings, taught by both practicing medical physicists and university academics. The Master of Teaching (Primary) program is designed for university graduates who hold a degree in a non-teaching field and aspire to become primary school teachers (Kindergarten to Year 6). This course aims to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to foster learning and make a significant impact on young students' lives. You will develop strong teaching competencies through extensive professional experience, starting early in the program with immersion placements and continuing with weekly blocks. The curriculum covers essential primary school learning areas, including English, mathematics, science and technology, creative arts, personal development, health and physical education, and human society and its environment.

Master of Teaching (Secondary)

The Master of Teaching (Secondary) program is designed for university graduates who hold a degree in a non-teaching field and aspire to become secondary school teachers (Years 7 to 12). Upon successful completion, you will earn a formal qualification that makes you eligible to teach specialised subject areas to students aged 13 to 18 in public, religious, and private schools. This program aims to produce highly skilled teachers who understand classroom diversity and have strong connections with school communities. You will develop practical teaching skills through immersive professional experience programs, which begin within the first month of the course and continue through weekly blocks. The program requires completion of 60 days of professional experience, with an option to undertake one placement in a rural or remote area of NSW. Throughout your studies, you will explore key concepts of teaching and learning, enhancing your professional capabilities in your chosen teaching specialisations.
